Why we built these
Every working breeder hits the same questions repeatedly: what colour will this pairing produce, when will the eggs hatch, what band size does this chick need, can this pair share an aviary with that one. Searching them up takes time and most of the answers online conflict with each other.
BirdTracks is a record-keeping platform for breeders, but the underlying logic — Punnett squares, COI calculations, species reference data — is useful even if you never sign up. That's what these tools are: the same logic the app uses, exposed as standalone calculators that any breeder can use, free, forever, no account.
If you find yourself reaching for these tools regularly, the full app saves the inputs and outputs against your actual birds, links them to pedigrees, and surfaces patterns over time. But you don't need it for the calculators to be useful.
